Popeyes DC Fast Charging EV Hub
The Popeyes DCFC Project is a forward-thinking initiative aimed at enhancing the site's energy infrastructure and sustainability. By installing six DCFC charging ports, securing over $450,000 in incentives from JCPL and state programs in New Jersey, and integrating a BESS for backup power, the project will significantly enhance energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and promote sustainable transportation.
The Popeyes DCFC Project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing the site's energy infrastructure and sustainability. This project includes several key components:
DCFC EV Chargers:
Description: Installation of six Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) ports to support electric vehicle charging. These stations will provide fast and efficient charging options for EV users, promoting sustainable transportation.
Grants Secured:
Description: Over $450,000 in incentives and grants have been secured from JCPL (Jersey Central Power & Light) and various New Jersey state programs, including GSEP (New Jersey's Clean Energy Program) and NJ Drive Green. These funds will support the installation and operation of the DCFC stations, making the project cost-effective and sustainable.
BESS (Battery Energy Storage System):
Description: Integration of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to provide backup power and enhance grid reliability. The BESS will store excess energy generated by the DCFC stations and can be used during peak demand periods or outages.
